Jeanne began working with gourds in March of 2000. She has always been a mask collector and has now begun creating her own gourd masks. She discovered the versatility of gourds and has been experimenting with different techniques. Some masks are woodburned, some are painted with acrylic paint and some with dyes. All are unique and the shape of the gourd determines the character or animal it will become. Some are adorned with jewelry, beads feathers or natural fibers.
