Meeting, Potluck & Angel Mini-Workshop

  • San Dieguito Heritage Mseum at Heritage Ranch 450 Quail Gardens Drive Encinitas, CA, 92024 (map)

NOTE THAT THE START TIME OF MEETING HAS CHANGED TO NOON!

Members and guests are welcome to join us at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway). We meet outdoors under a covered patio, so please dress accordingly. We look forward to being with you all to find out what you’ve been up to and discuss and receive feedback on Guild activities.

We will begin the meeting with a show-and-share and hear any basket or gourd art related announcements from fellow members. We encourage you to bring finished projects and/or your works-in-progress. Also, if you have a problem piece, there may be fellow members who can brainstorm ideas that will help you.

We will then provide a brief synopsis of the previous Board business meeting, and we may seek feedback or suggestions on Guild activities. We will then share a potluck lunch.

Those of you who plan to enter a gourd art piece into the 2023 California Gourd Society Southern Virtual Competition can bring your boxed entries, labeled with your name, along with a copy of your online entry form to this meeting. Deb Zimmerman will deliver your entries to the competition and bring them back at November Guild meeting. CLICK HERE for entry information.

Example of Angel mini-workshop using philodendron sheaths. Everyone’s angel will have it’s own personality!

Following this, fellow member Cookie Hanson will teach us how to make very sweet and fun angels using philodendron sheaths and other natural materials. These make terrific gifts! Materials will be provided but you can bring embellishments such as dried flowers, seed pods, etc. you’d like to include (these will be glued on later after natural materials dry). Bring scissors, and there is a small fee for the mini-workshop for those who wish to participate.

Those of you who wish to learn more about Guild business are welcome to join the Board meeting that will take place before the Noon members’ meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Museum.

For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, an email with Zoom option will be sent to current members the week before meeting (not an option for mini-workshop portion of meeting.)
